🍜 Wonton Soup (Comforting & Classic)

For the wontons:
- 200–250g ground chicken or shrimp (or a mix)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 green onion (finely chopped)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Wonton wrappers
For the soup:
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- 1–2 cloves garlic (smashed)
- Small piece of ginger
- Salt & pepper to taste
Optional add-ins:
- Bok choy or spinach
- Mushrooms
- Chili oil
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1. Make the filling
Mix ground meat/shrimp with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onion, salt, and pepper.
2. Fill the wontons
Place about 1 teaspoon filling in the center of each wrapper.
Wet edges with water, fold into triangles, then bring corners together to seal.
3. Prepare the broth
In a pot, bring chicken broth to a simmer.
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Let it gently infuse for 5–10 minutes.
4. Cook the wontons
Drop wontons into the simmering broth.
Cook for 4–6 minutes until they float and are fully cooked.
5. Add vegetables (optional)
Toss in greens or mushrooms and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
6. Serve
Ladle into bowls and finish with green onions or a drizzle of chili oil.

- Don’t overfill wontons—they’ll burst.
- Keep wrappers covered so they don’t dry out.
- You can freeze extra wontons and cook straight from frozen (add 1–2 minutes).
